Our Commitment to Privacy
AnonCam was built on a simple principle: you should be able to have random video conversations without giving away your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we uphold that commitment.
Information We Collect
We collect only the minimal data necessary to operate our service:
Automatically Collected
- IP Address: Temporary storage for security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection. IP addresses are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution to optimize compatibility and performance.
- Usage Metrics: Anonymous aggregate statistics about site traffic, feature usage, and connection quality (no personal identifiers).
- Cookies: Essential cookies for site functionality only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Not Collected
The following are clearly NOT collected or stored:
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Personal names or usernames
- Location data beyond approximate country/region (for matching optimization)
- Video recordings or screenshots
- Chat logs or conversation history
- Payment information (service is free)
- Social media accounts
How We Use Your Information
The limited data we collect serves specific operational purposes:
- Service Provision: Facilitating peer-to-peer video connections and matching users.
- Security & Safety: Detecting and preventing abuse, spam, harassment, and platform violations using automated systems and human review.
- Performance Optimization: Monitoring connection quality and server performance to improve reliability.
- Legal Compliance: Responding to valid legal requests when required by law.
Video & Chat Content
Your video and chat conversations are:
- Never recorded or stored on our servers
- Transmitted directly between your device and your chat partner's device using peer-to-peer WebRTC technology
- Not accessible by AnonCam staff
- Automatically deleted from temporary memory buffers when the session ends
However, we employ automated content moderation that analyzes video streams in real-time to detect policy violations. This analysis happens on the fly and does not result in stored recordings.
Data Retention
We retain minimal data for limited periods:
- IP Addresses: 30 days maximum for security and abuse investigation purposes
- Usage Logs: Aggregated, anonymized data retained indefinitely for analytics; personally identifiable logs deleted after 90 days
- Contact Form Submissions: Retained for 1 year for customer support purposes
- Abuse Reports: Retained as needed for moderation and potential legal requirements
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data in these circumstances:
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist with hosting, security, and analytics (all bound by strict confidentiality agreements).
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government regulation.
- Protection of Rights: To enforce our Terms of Service, protect AnonCam from liability, or investigate violations.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data would be transferred as part of the transaction.
Your Rights & Choices
Since we collect minimal personal information, your privacy rights are inherently protected. You may:
- Use AnonCam without providing any personal data
- Opt out of non-essential cookies through browser settings
- Request information about what data we hold about you (subject to verification)
- Request deletion of your data where legally applicable

Children's Privacy
AnonCam is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we become aware that a minor is using our service, we will terminate the session and may block access.

We implement industry-standard security practices:
- HTTPS encryption for all communications
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
- Access controls and authentication for internal systems
- Automated abuse detection and rate limiting
- Secure data centers with redundant backups
